THE OBJECTIVE: To raise money for "Help for Heroes" - a very good and worthwhile cause.  To achieve this Ian is getting together a small team to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in January 2011.  This will not be a walk in the park as the trek will be to a height of 19,000ft.

INTRODUCTION - KILIMANJARO 2011 - by Ian Walton (Project Leader)

16th January 2010 was my 55th birthday, Army pension went into full swing and 10 years till retirement, I saw a very moving documentary on TV about the lads and lasses who were maimed fighting for our Queen & Country getting little or no help in their darkest hours.

I felt that I had to get off my aging backside and do something to support them, so I came up with a cunning plan.  After getting the all clear from my Doctor and speaking to H4H, I came up with crazy idea of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro.

After speaking to Dougie, who I must say has been a great help, I also asked Andy Masters for his support.  Again thanks to Dougie & Andy, I then realised I needed more help, that is when I contacted ADU NI Association and again, thanks to Eddie & Cath for their support, now you guys have come on board ... thanks.

This has evolved into an all ADU NI affair.  This I had not envisaged but very happy it has done so ... THANKS TO ADU NI ASSOCIATION.
